Barcelona’s sporting director Deco Anderson De Souza has revealed the plans the Blaugrana have for two of their Portuguese players João Felix and João Cancelo who are on loan from their parent clubs.
Apparently Felix is on loan from Atletico Madrid while Cancelo is on loan from Manchester City. Both of the two have really been impressive for Xavi Hernandez’ side.
The two players seem to be enjoying their time so much at the Camp Nou and Barcelona is also happy with them. According to Deco, they want to keep the two players when their contracts expire.
According to the Barca legend, it’s still early for negotiations but they will definitely look into it. It’s therefore upon the players now to maintain the right attitude and play well to continue playing for the Catalan giants.
“No doubts, we want to keep both Joao Felix and Cancelo also next season and for the future. They’re key players for us and they’re happy here”.
“It’s still early but we will think about the negotiation, we are happy with both of them”, told RAC1.
The former Chelsea midfielder was also asked about the future of Spanish attacker, Ansu Fati. After being plagued by injuries and his game time cut short, the 21 year old was sent on loan to English Premier League side, Brighton and Hove Albion.
According to Deco, Fati is their player and is just on loan in England. Therefore he will return when the time is right. Besides going to Brighton for game time was the right choice for the La Masia graduate to get his career back on track.
“Of course Ansu Fati can return here, he’s on loan to Brighton. He’s young, he’s happy now”.
“I think #BHAFC was good choice to play regular football, we’re following his progress. It’s up to his performances. But Ansu could return to Barça, for sure”.
