Brazilian football legends Pele and Neymar’s Santos has been relegated for the first time in their history. Santos alongside three other clubs.
Apparently the club has produced some of football’s biggest stars including three time World Cup winner, Pele who passed away last year. Neymar who is Brazil top goal scorer is another from the club.
Others include, Robinho and Real Madrid striker, Rodrygo Goes. Besides Santos alongside Sao Paulo and Flamengo had never been relegated in their history.
The club went on a winless run of 5 games eventually dropping to the last relegation spot of 17th. Meanwhile the trophy was won by Palmeiras who drew 1-1 with Cruzeiro thanks to an 11th goal from Real Madrid bound striker, Endrick.
Atletico Mineiro and Flamengo all had little chances of winning the league but lost their final games. This saw Luis Suarez’ Gremio finish runners Up in a game he scored 2 goals.
Additionally, the Uruguayan is expected to join his former Barca teammate and friend, Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. With Pele and Neymar’s Santos being relegated it’s not two teams that have never been relegated in the Brazilian league.
