Following widespread criticism of the Manchester United midfielder’s performance in his team’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, Casemiro’s wife jumped to her husband’s defense.
The two goals scored by Liverpool came from errors made by the Brazilian star, who twice gave the ball away before Luis Diaz punished him.
Casemiro’s severe struggles were described as a “sad sight” by Sky Sports co-commentator Jamie Carragher. Erik ten Hag replaced Casemiro at halftime with rookie Toby Collyer.

Before joining United in 2022, the 32-year-old won five Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, three La Liga crowns, and the Copa del Rey. All of these accomplishments are shown in the photo.
In addition, he won two titles in his first two seasons at United and the Copa America with Brazil, indicating that his stay at Old Trafford has not been a total bust by any means. But even with his wife of ten years’ support, Casemiro now appears to be seriously in danger of losing his place in United’s starting lineup going forward.
Collyer might now be pushing for more playing time after showing promise in his 45-minute cameo on Sunday. The Red Devils also signed Manuel Ugarte from PSG on deadline day.
The Uruguayan, who hasn’t played yet this season, appears to be in the running to partner Kobbie Mainoo following the international break, though it’s claimed he’s a touch off full fitness.
