Arsenal fans think they now know why Mikel Arteta benched Aaron Ramsdale for new goalkeeper, David Raya after the Englishman made a shocking confession. During a podcast with Arsenal legend Ian Wright, Ramsdale said that it is very hard for him to concentrate on the game for 90 minutes.
He always gets carried away and involved with fans. If fans send him abuse and insults, they better rest assured that the former Bournemouth goalkeeper is going to fire back.The much he can concentrate in a football game is for 15-20 minutes.
“If you ask me to concentrate on football for 90 minutes, I really can’t. I usually get involved with the fans for about 3-4 minutes. Trust me if they give me abuse or any kind of insult, I will definitely fire back. Then I will concentrate on the game for 15-20 minutes,” said Aaron Ramsdale.
It should be recalled that the England international was the Gunners guaranteed number one for the past two seasons. However, with the arrival of Spanish goalkeeper David Raya, his future hangs in imbalance.
Furthermore, he’s been confined to the bench much of the games this season. The 24 year old only started 4 Premier League games, one UCL and 2 Carabao Cup games.
Apparently, Ramsdale made some costly errors during the 2022-23 season. These proved costly for Mikel Arteta’s side as they challenged Manchester City for the trophy.
