Ugandan Manchester United fans serenade Andre Onana at Namboole stadium

During Tuesday night’s goalless draw between Zimbabwe and Cameroon, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana grabbed attention.
During their AFCON 2025 qualifier, thousands of Manchester United supporters flocked to Mandela National Stadium to see the team’s goalkeeper play for his native Cameroon.

The supporters were holding placards and screaming Onana’s name as they awaited his live performance at the Stadium when the Cameroon bus came.

Early in the second half of the match, Zimbabwe’s Khama Billiat thrilled the Namboole fans by forcing Onana into a good save.

Following the match, Onana gave his pair of gloves to a few fortunate Namboole spectators.

“It’s a great pleasure for the team to have a superstar like Andre Onana and it’s great to have supporters behind us in a foreign country,” Camerron’s captain Vincent Abubaker said.

Onana, on the other hand, was taken out of the stadium right after the game and did not ride the team bus.

To enable Onana’s limousine to head directly to the airport, security had to scatter the ecstatic throng.

In the meantime, Kenya leads Group J in the AFCON 2025 qualifying campaign, with Cameroon currently in second place, both on four points.
Next month, at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Kenya will host Cameroon, giving fans another opportunity to see Onana and Co.
